SCIENCE – A school subject
Thematic lessons will be held at schools. Students will start their observation and examination of a nearby woods: water, soil and air.
Results:
Teachers will prepare Science and Maths lessons in English. Students will learn basic biological and mathematical lexis in English. Students will exchange mathematical problems with partner schools. Students will receive their observation hand-outs.

EUROPEAN STORK CLUB – Students will observe weather, collect food for birds and animals; they will dry flowers, and leaves to make Herbaria.
Results:
HERBARIUM - Young students will make the herbaria. The school exhibition will be held and the most interesting copies will be sent to the partner schools.

PHOTOGRAPY – The photography team sets the rules of the Photo Competition for the most interesting photo: My Neighbourhood – My Country. Students draw the LOGO of the project
Results:
Photo competition. The rules of the photo competition will be presented at schools, a person in charge of coordinating the competition in each school will start receiving the students´ competitive submissions.

SCIENTIFIC REPORT - Students write first scientific reports presenting the results of their research on the influence of pollution on the environment.
Results:
The First Report on the Wiki. Students will be able to write a simple scientific report about their findings and results of observing nature in their area. They will be able to see a difference between journalistic reporting and scientific reporting.

THE NATURE’S PRESENTS - Students make by themselves using natural materials: presents, cards, season decorations
Results:
Children will be able to present their pro-ecological attitude. Seasonal decorations, small presents and greeting cards made by students from natural materials will be presented at schools and then sent to local authorities and partner schools.

EUROPEAN STORK CLUB - Bird watching - A restaurant for birds. Pupils will feed birds and draw pictures and posters.
Results:
BIRD FEEDER - Young students will observe birds gathering around their bird feeders. They will learn how to take care of birds in winter. They will learn to recognise them. The exhibition of children’s pictures and posters will be held. Photos will be posted on the blog and the Wiki.

GLOBAL PROBLEMS – Global warming – our ancestors’ winters. Students discuss the problem, continue building the Wiki. Statistics, old weather reports and chronicles will be used to find out more of information.
Results:
Students will use the Wiki to present the results of their observations and compare the data with other countries. This comparison will be used in common environmental lesson by teachers from all partner schools.

THE NATIONAL PARK
Children will visit the Kiskunság National Park, take part in orientation, take photos. They will observe protected plants, count eggs, do bird watching, especially the stork. Children will learn what private foundations do to protect animals and the environment. They will become familiar with the Hungarian program of environmental protection. Visitors to Hungary will plant the trees which will symbolize their country. .

Results:
Students will be able to use all the knowledge gained in the course of project and practice their communicative skills at the first project meeting, exchange experiences and make new friendships. They will try to compare how Hungary supports the protection of the environment with their own country’s experience. The Tree of Friendship will be planted by the representatives of each country.

LANGUAGES – Writing texts and comics
EUROPEAN STORK CLUB –PET’s Adventure – students will use the Keebook or Mixbook programme and write an interactive story jointly, make mini-dictionaries using L1 and L2.
Results:
Collaboration on the international glossary will help to introduce less frequent European languages and get students ready for communication project activities. Using the Keebook or Mixbook programme students will jointly make a digital story/comic book and a paper book. The final product will be shared via the web address on the Wiki.

THE INDUSTRIAL ENVIRONMENT
Children will learn what the local authorities do to protect the environment against harmful industrial coal mining. They will do experiments in the Science lessons and take part in outdoor activities. They will create a Photo Mural. Visitors to Poland will plant the trees which will symbolize their country.

Results:
Students will be aware of the harmful effects of the mining industry, reflect on the global warming issue, and importance of recycling. The year long international photo competition will be finished and the winners awarded. The Photo Mural will be created. The theme of the summer holidays photography competition will be announced.

VIRTUAL EDEN - The Comenius Day at schools
PHOTO EXHIBITIONS will be organised in all schools and public places. Students jointly create Virtual EDEN – the FINAL JOINT PRODUCT.
Results: Students will finish their work on the final project – the Virtual garden. It will be presented on the Internet and there will be an exhibition in each school. Representatives of local authorities and media will be invited to participate in the schools’ Comenius Day Celebration.

COME BACK TO EDEN – the opening of the second year of project. The students will present the photos from their holidays. Coordinators will remind teachers and students about new activities. The most successful activities will be repeated, especially with new pupils.
Results:
The plan of activities for the new school year will be reviewed.
The best pictures of nature in each partner country will be chosen and joint exhibitions will be held in all schools. The new students will start conducting their research.

THE RURAL ENVIRONMENT
Children will visit the Litovel's Morava Valley Natural Reserve, and take part in an ecological programme prepared by the centre of environmental acivities in Sluňákov. They will visit The Greenhouses in Olomouc Smetana gardens. Visitors to the Czech Republic will plant the trees which will symbolize their country.

Results:
The remarkable alluvial forest biotopes in Litovel's Morava Valley Natural Reserve will be introduced to students and teachers. Students will learn about the Czech system of protection of nature.
Students will continue working on their map of project trips, recording all the places, plants and interesting environmental units they became familiar with.

SCIENCE and MATHEMATICS – Thematic lessons at schools. The lessons prepared jointly by teachers will be held in each school and recorded. It will help participating teachers to see how joint topics can be taught and various teaching aids, methodologies and procedures can be used. Students will continue their research.
Results: The lessons prepared jointly by Comenius schools will be held in each school and recorded. Teachers will exchange CDs with lessons.

LANGUAGES/ Ethics – The Tree in Literature. Students will search for various descriptions of trees in literature, and they will write their own poems. Students will discuss in religion/ethics lessons about ideal places.
Results: Interdisciplinary topics will be supported by this project activity. Nature will be shown not only as a science topic but a theme related to many different subjects. The students will have a panel discussion. The poems written by students will be published on the Wiki.

GLOBAL PROBLEMS – Carbon Dioxide – Students will discuss how the climate crisis affects us, how it can be solved and how we can help to reduce the carbon emissions. Students will do interviews, write reports, and publish them on the Wiki.
Results: Students will use the Wiki to present the results of their investigation and compare the data with other countries. The compared results will be used during the common environmental lessons by teachers from all partner schools. The students will improve their writing abilities, supporting the academic style of writing.

COMENIUS CALENDAR
Students will create a calendar with their photos.
Results: Students and teachers will use their ICT ( mainly graphic ) experience to create a joint calendar introducing the Comenius partnership and showing the best photos taken during the project timeline. Calendars will be used as a present for school partners, local institutes and authorities.

GLOBAL PROBLEMS – Alternative Sources of Energy. Students will study and compare sources of energy in Poland, Sweden, Turkey, Romania, Czech Rep and Hungary. Students will write reports and publish them on the Wiki.
GLOBAL PROBLEMS –How Green is Your House? A Web survey about eco-approach at home.
Results: The opportunity to compare information from various countries will help students to understand the area of energy better and more deeply. It will motivate them to ruminate over their own country’s situation and possible alternatives of gaining energy in the future. Students will answer a web survey about “How green is your home.” They will be aware about their own family attitude regarding eco – problems. The results of the survey will be compiled in a table and published on the Wiki.
